hi! wanted to share since i thought that you might also think it’s neat - the library i work for received a large donation of older fantasy/sci-fi paperbacks: l. ron hubbards, piers anthonys, all that. and, of course, the covers are phenomenal but also, while down an internet archive rabbit hole, i came across a working page from 2000 with lists and summaries of fantasy/sci-fi art books! so i’ve been excited to learn about artists like julie bell and tim white, it’s been a blast

Hi! I understand this isn’t exactly your thing, but I’m hoping you/your followers can help. I’m looking for a 90s poster of coral reefs. One of the eye wateringly vibrant things, with sea turtles and dolphins in neon colours. It was in vertical poster shape, not horizontal. It was very busy. The animals did not have cartoon eyes or smiles. I was saving up to buy it for my bathroom and I lost the name of the art/artist. Internet is giving me AI slop. Help?

In case you’d like to tag your recent “ジム・キャノン, 1983年” post with more information, the artist who did that painting is Ken-ichi Ishibashi. It’s for the “Mobile Suit Variation” plastic model series, a spinoff of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, and specifically the painting depicts the RGC-80 GM Cannon.
